Short History: | The inaugural meeting of Clan Macdonald Society of Victoria was held at the Assembly Hall, Collins Street, Melbourne on Tuesday 23rd October 1934.The Chairman, Dr. Colin Macdonald, was elected first President by the thirty-nine people present at the meeting. Over the years, many members have been actively connected with the Clan but with the passage of time are no longer with us.One of the longest serving members was Mr Andrew McDonald, who was Commissioner of Clan Donald for meny years, who unfortunately passed away in 2002. The membership today is much less than it was in the early days, but the sentiments are still there. |
