Purpose:
  • To allow Mackenzies/McKenzies and associated Septs to meet regularly for both official and social occasions
  • T further our Clan within Australia and overseas and promote our name.
  • To become associated with other clans/societies with similiar interests and aims.
  • To promote genealogical recording among Society members.
Short history: The Clan began in New South Wales in 1984 – 85 with a branch in Victoria in 1988.Both branches have now amalgamated into one Society with committee members drawn from both States. We have approximately two hundred financial members.
Meetings: Four meetings are held each year.
Functions
  • Family Day held each year in a different centre in Regional Victoria
  • An Australia-wide Mackenzie Gathering is held every two years
  • A World Wide Gathering of Mackenzies at our ‘seat’ Castle Leod, Strathpeffer, Scotland every five years.
    The next Gathering takes place in August 2005 with many Australian members attending.
